After a summer of no paddling due to leg pain, last week we had a few days in a row with 30mph wind and I saw breaking waves on the local web cam, so decided, dang it, I'm going! Bit of a shaky start, but managed to catch a few and test my wave deflector. Cam is Sony FDR X3000

A couple of DWs in the bay of late...





Both were in about 17 - 22 knots. The run is 23 kms up the coast on a SE breeze.

I have been noticing that the 360 camera's are a bit of a break through for surfski footage. The ability to select / direct the camera in post allows for the capture of shots that are otherwise impossible to get. Really cool.

TVE - This is Moreton Bay in Brisbane, Queensland.

The stabiliser is produced by the built in software on the Garmin VIRB 360. You can also do some tweaking post production using the VIRB software on your computer.

Picked up a Garmin 360 and am having fun. The VR feature is really unique. One of the challenges with our sport is that its incredibly difficult to understand unless you go do it. But VR seems to really help convey the dynamic nature of the sport when you can just grab the camera and change the viewpoint...
