A little bit of wind around this past weekend in Brisbane. The bay is protected from the ocean but can create some fun conditions. Both these runs were in fairly shallow water, the deeper sections can get a bit hectic.

Hiya all, long time watcher first time poster ;)

Made a video of a modest downwind run here in NZ. It was the first trial of my camera on a pole mount, generally successful but a little too much play in the deck fitting (used the RailBlaza system). Ideally would have a gimble to square up the horizon also but thats all getting a bit serious.

If you're interested how I made the deck fitting I've documented it here also:
paddlesports.co.nz/index.php?threads/mak...ights-camera-etc.27/

The finished video ... don't forget to watch in HD !!

This is my first ski video so be kind. It's paddling in the Columbia River Gorge on a moderate day. Somthing like 20-25 knots and dropping. Moderate meaning on the gorge scale of wind ie: 'light, moderate, big, and nuke'n'. I was demoing a Stellar SR in advantage layup. I was there for a few days so I might put one together with some footage from a head mount... Anyways, enjoy. Oh, there is no music so hum your favorite tune. And make sure you watch on the highest resolution....

Nice Bill! Interesting to see how much the water steepened up when you through the Hatchery section.

This is from earlier this summer when I went through that same zone in similar conditions, different camera angle:

IMO, the 20 to 25 range is just perfect. Very catchable, fun rides but not so violent and stressful as when it gets bigger.

Oh, I like it bigger. I was there about three weeks ago or so and it was nuke'n (just) for two days. It was super fun, big and intense. It's the only time I wondered if I could be pitchpoled in open water. That was in the SR as well. You just need to ditch that V14 when it's like that and grab a v10 or something. Horses for courses!

A little downwind run in Western Australia we like to call the "Woody's run". Great for those learning downwind as entry and exit are in calm waters and it doesnt get too hectic with no Ocean swells to deal with but can still get some great runs.

Always looking for the next boat :)
