What kind of rudder have you put on? A marathon rudder?

I had a Select marathon rudder, size XL already, so that's what I have been using (Select has a website with pics). It's a very thin NACA type cross section. Post diameter is too small, so I have a thin sleeve over it to bring it up to fit the rudder tube. Seems like it's low resistance in a straight line but it stalls with even a slight turn due to it being so thin. I'll likely get something from DK over the winter.

So, obviously, I had to switch out the rudder lines and rudder cross piece. I am using Nelo adjustable lines and a Nelo rudder cross piece.

I saw the McGregor Classic ski and the Rhythm version in action last weekend at a river race in Florida. Those skis took 1st and 2nd place. (Lee was paddling one of them). The finish looks great and they seemed to have fantastic glide. I didnt get to ask what weight capacity they have. I am 100 kg

Hi
Lee here...

Just for your info the Classic is designed for 85 kg and under and the Rhythm is for 85 kg and up. Randy Taylor has bought a Rhythm and he weighs around 100 kg and loves it. If you need any info, contact him or Bruce Gipson @ Venturesport.com

im reading with interest as I'm considering changing my knysna G40 to a rhythm..... feel a classic would be a bit too lively for all round use for me. Would be really grateful if any one could give further feedback as they roll out and more folks use them . Thanks for all your help

I'm in central Florida & simply need to contact Bruce (unless there is an owner somewhere closer) I used to waveski with Bruce back in the 70's at Haulover Beach & had a great MacSki for a while...... ;-) I would like more stability (Rhythm) but that may make the bucket a bit big..... 81.5kg. I had a Stellar S18S & was never comfortable in the bucket.

Well, I now have a Rhythm & it is a beauty. All I have to do is adapt to the 2.5 inch
drop in width...... ;-)

certainly good looking:
- pleased with my classic ski but need more stability in ocean, so serves me well in flat conditions
- have considered the rhythm, but will wait for a try out first as I feel it currently struggles with an identity crises: heard it has 30% more stability so is a big persons advanced ski or an intermediate ski ?
- hope to see a demo on the east coast of australia in 2018

Lovely looking ski

Can anyone give some sort of indication of stability of the Classic and Rhythm vs Fenn Elite and Swordfish?

I wish that I could help but I went straight from a Stellar S18S to this
Rhythm which is a drop of 3 inches..... ;-) I did try the Fenn Spark which
felt like it had a little more secondary stability but squeezed my butt.
another shot

Hi.
I'm interested in the Mc Gregor Classic and I've read in this forum that the 2018 version has changed from the 2017 version.
2017 43 cm wide and 590 long.
2018 41 cm wide and 600 long.
What more differences there are between one version and another, regarding stability and user weights, remains the same?
Are there other changes?
I measure 183cm and 80kg weight, I paddle in the mediterranean.
Advance apologies for the google translation.

Currently: Fenn Elite S, Nelo 560 L-2021, Mazu Pro Elite 2.
Previously: Mazu Fitness, Mazu Pro, Think Uno.

Web site says 41 cm wide and 590 long.

There are a few guys around here paddling the Rhythm which is 45.5cm wide and that ski seems to quite challenge. I suspect that the Classic is going to be very challenging for anyone but the very Elite guys (who the ski is aimed at).

Hi Carlos, what nationality are you? There are a couple of Rhythms in Europe at the moment lying around the Mediterranean that are available for you to try.
Let me know, otherwise re any specifications or technical information have a look at the Knysna Racing websites below:
