I see that this question has been left hanging. Don’t buy one. The Spark S ( if you weigh 75kg and below, or Elite S of over 80kg is all you need. I weigh 90kg and have paddled both extensively. In the flat the spark was fine for me. There is a reason that the Surge is not commonplace. Not sure why, as I haven’t paddled it but guess it’s because the two boats I mention are simply a better choice.
