- Contact Dawid Mocke and either attend a couple of sessions of surf ski school in Fish Hoek (where I guarantee you'll improve your paddling & meet people) or just ask him for some contact details of other novices.

- Come down to Hout Bay on a Tuesday evening (when the wind isn't blowing) and join in the short course of the Tuesday series
- Contact Billy Harker (

) and come join in the short course of the Sunday races - he'll even organise to put you in the back of a double if you're keen
