Kinda of a funky subject, but some of you might know about my work in developing touring surfskis a few years ago. The speed, agility and grace of the surfski seemed to just translate so perfectly to use beyond day paddles and racing. I come from an alpine mountaineering background where light and fast made all kinds of things possible that wouldn't be otherwise. So when I discovered the sport of surfski and downwind paddling, it was just so tempting to want to use that kind of thinking to go do some fun adventures with tactics and equipment that lift a few pages from the alpinist's handbook.
