Race 1 of the winter series happened in Durban this morning. Light offshores and small surf meant a fast 12km pace. And there was a new looking boat on water clearly enjoying the conditions - labelled Rezo. Did a little inspection when back on the beach....the boat certainly looked unique. The nose was reverse bow, with less volume than any boat I've ever seen. It was extremely skinny forward of the cockpit. The seat is apparently adjustable, allowing for varying height settings - didn't have time to figure out how this worked properly because the boat was flipped over to reveal some very squared off rails on the hull. The boat-user for the day was a tall, elite paddler who spoke of how easily the boat jumped onto a plane, and how energy-efficient it was when planing. Interesting times......seems like a lot of innovation out there at the moment.

Must be a very powerful paddler, not sure how a displacement hull can plane!

Not really a displacement hull. Perhaps I should have said squarish "chines" instead of "rails".

My Google searches haven't found anything, great trickle marketing campaign perhaps! ;)

Always looking for the next boat :)

Correction - it was called REVO. sorry the pic doesn't show the distinguishing features but all we've got for now. not sure about trickle-marketing either : seems more like experimental stage.....testing the waters if you like.

Looks very similar to the Ocean Surf Ski. Hybrid nose looks identical as do many other aspects of the ski. Probably by the same designer.

It's not an OCEAN and I asked Umberto, our naval architect, he doesn't know about it at all. So maybe a FG but not that anybody in their closer environment knows about it.
I can't see the bow on the picture provided, does anybody have a different, better image?

That the Revo should be a boat by FG kayaks is probably a mix-up of names. FG make a childrens' surfski with the name Revo, a far cry from an elite boat. Coincidentally they also manufacture the Code zero (2.0) , a boat somewhat similar to the Ocean skis.

Seakayak, flatwater racing and a surfski on order.
Looking for other ski paddlers in South East Netherlands (Maas / Waal)

Surfski: Nelo 560 on order :-)

Dye, it was the Code 2 I was referring to. I found it on the FG face book page where there are other images. One of the images has a clear shot of the bow that looks identical to the Ocean

@ bajax, cool, would you mind to post them also in the " reverse bow " thread? New company or one that folks know? Looked through the Knysna FB pages the other day tho, etc.

Pics of New ski from Durban Surfski Facebook page. Note reverse bow (may be a problem if it catches on the Sharknets we have in Durban) and the chines underneath look quite different ( I heard that a Yacht builder was involved in the design) see a video at www.facebook.com/DurbanSurfski/

bajax, oh, I was of the opinion, the "think legend" had two sharp chines as reviews referred to the chines in plural ... google > "think legend" flat bottom hard chines
so I thought one on each side and a comparable flat bottom inbetween ... see link in #26168 and pic of the think legend and text, so this is not one of two chines, but a single one? excuse the ignorance, I've never seen one tho, but couple of people here own(ed) one I guess

your pic is clear reg. the flatness, a really very exciting bottom.

edit: besides the link above, found this post here on the think legend:
