I have been surfing now for some 50 years. (Think I got my longest nose ride ever at Malibu yesterday, sweet. And the girls/women in bikinis were outstanding! I think I fell in Love).
Anyway, It's interesting how the boards I see being ridden now just seem to be variations of what I was riding and were being experimented with 30 - 40 years ago. It's all pretty much been done before. The amazing thing is how these boards are being ridden now. The guys like Kelley Slater have taken surfing to a whole new level. Probably beyond anything anyone could have imagined 40 years ago. These guys are riding 1.8 meter boards on 6 meter waves at pipeline, INSANE. Can't even imagine how they do it.
I would need about a 3 meter board to even attempt it,(unlikely).
