I'm a newbie to surfskiing (but hooked). Can anyone give me advice on proper technique for leg pumping? I'm trying to develop good habits early on so I don't have to spend a lot of time breaking them later.

Thanks,

Kent

Hey Kent,
I was taught that leg pumping is really a by-product of hip rotation. The strength of your stroke comes from rotating your torso and using your back and stomach muscles.

It really is worth having a few lessons when you start out to the so-called "forward stroke" right.

Epic sell a pretty good DVD (although it's pretty old now) showing Greg Barton and Oscar Chalupsky demonstrating good technique.

Good luck!
