Not exactly a surfski, but I thought it was fairly impressive to pitchpole a 35ft / 10.5m sailboat in open ocean.
Good thing the lady is ok and waiting rescue now, but must have been quite the ride to tail-over-bow pitchpole her boat and knock her out! The round-the-world race is pretty amazing. Some good videos/documentaries on youtube about the Volvo and this one that I found quite interesting.
Sailing around the southern ocean seems real crappy from what I gather. Amazing that the traders of centuries past did it with no gps, no cold water gear, wood boats, cloth sails, etc.
