Surfski at Crescent Head?

Hi
I am going to Crescent Head all next week. Has anyone done much surfski up there? I am intermediate level. Also is it all ocean paddling or are there any worthwhile lakes, or rivers close by.

Are you coming from South (Sydney)?
If yes, you could make a stop-over at Smiths Lake or Wallis Lake. Up at Crescent Head, a trip to Arakoon (next to South West Rocks, about 20km one way) is always nice, one can launch right at the campground - a beautiful, shallow bay to paddle and one can always go into the larger surf/take runners (next to the large stone wall)...
