Can someone give me an over all description of a Valhalla Victory I. It's pros and cons?
The only pictures I have seen seems to show lots of rocker. Does this boat have any merits anymore? Stability? Maybe a good downwind boat in short chop?

Bill.

Keith made lots of versions of his skis over the years:

Victory or Victory Special? Double footwell or single? Understern or overstern rudder?

The ski in question is as mentioned ..a " Victory I" with an over the stern rudder. Shallow double footwell and bucket and a lot of rocker. What I'm looking for is a ski I can take and turnninto a touring ski.
So I'm looking for something cheep and reasonably fun. Speed I sent super important but fun to paddle is. There is one for sale near by.

I've seen and paddled earlier and later Victorys - not sure of the number "1".

If the price is cheap, i.e. a few hundred bucks, it might make for a fun flattish water ocean ski assuming it fits you and is comfortable enough.

I think it's kind of intermediate in stability. downwind in short chop - probably not because of the overstern rudder and flattish top surface of the bow.

The new skis are much better in comfort and performance and also more expensive, obviously. But, if you're new to skis, a season in the Vic 1 might be fun and get you thinking about which new ski to get next.
