Paddling into Cape Town Harbour was created by peteski
Hello all Capetownians

I was wondering if were any legal restrictions wrt paddling into Cape Town Harbour?

With the Volvo Ocean yachts approaching us, it could be fun to paddle around in the harbor and enjoy the vibe.

Any foreseen problems with that?

Yep, it's prohibited for any craft to enter the harbour without permission.

Best thing to do would be to call the port captain's office and ask them.

Thanks for the info Rob, I thought that might be the case.

The last time I paddled into the harbour was at the end of the Hout Bay to Cape Town King of the Harbour, about 15 years ago.
