PACOS Latitude 28 event postponed till Feb 18th, 2012
Due to the current weather conditions affecting the Gold Coast region, the forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology, and advice from Gold Coast Life Guard Warren Young, the predicted conditions are unlikely to improve by the weekend and as such will not favour this Saturday’s running of the “Latitude 28”.
The Event Organisers looked at several course alterations, as well as moving the event to the canal, but with the amount of debris in the water, heavy rain predicted and 30km/h wind, none of the alternate courses would be safe enough for paddlers, workforce or spectators.
Due to the information at hand today (25th January 2012), the Event Organisers have had to make the decision to postpone Latitude 28 to the 18th February 2012. All course details will be the same for the new date, however start times may change due to the tides. Please visit the web site for more information next week.
Those who have already registered, your entry will be forwarded to the new date. If for some reason you find you are are unable to attend the event on the date, we will refund your entry fee.
