Yo! all you paddlers in Hawaii how are things going with the lead up to the Molokai?

The Molokai is most Surf Ski paddlers dream, what's it like there, drop us a comment and some pictures if you can get away from the island life to write a few lines. 8)

Hey Alain, its been a lot of fun paddling here lately. Bumped into some Australians out in the water on Saturday after a run, chatted with them about the race. Plus, all the one-manners who are doing the race are doing last minute preparations. A lot of additional paddling energy which is exciting to be around. Even though I can't do the race this year, I'm hoping to put it together for a go next year.

As Rob's report indicated, there is concern about the weather (or lack of wind) for the race. It would change the race from a surfer's dream to a tractor pull across the channel.

Any truth in the rumour that the 2009 Epic Molokai Solo will be brought forward a week to bring it closer to the Maui to Molokai race?

Not sure about that but one of the schemes suggested is something like:

Load all the paddlers & skis on the Super Ferry for Maui.
Paddle (race?) from Maui to Molokai
Spend two nights on Molokai in a tent city/block booking
Race from Molokai back to Oahu.

Can imagine the vibe? Obviously some people would want to do their own thing - but the opportunity for all the paddlers to meet/paddle/relax together... That usually only happens at the after-party. This would be like a massive road-trip. Awesome.

Sounds great Rob but i guess it will be a while before any official announcement is made? The more time you can spend in that part of the world the better!
