2010 West Coast Florida Offshore Series
We are excited this year to announce the addition of a "Doubles Mini-Series" built into the season. As always, all races are open to both doubles and singles (Surfskis, Outriggers, and Paddleboards) but to encourage more doubles participation we have added a point series for the doubles races. All races are Offshore and will be scheduled as downwinds when the wind gods participate. Race details can be found on our website
clearwatercanoeclub.com Final race details will be announced by 4pm on the Friday before the event. All races are $5 per person. Shuttles will be arranged for all
downwind races. Most races will be held out of the Sand Key Sailing Center in Clearwater, FL unless we get a big East wind, then we will travel over to Cypress Beach Park in Tampa, FL. Likewise, the East Coast Champs 1-man race will be held in Miami, FL together as part of the East Coast Champs Race Weekend and the Shark Bite Challenge will be held at Honeymoon Island in Dunedin, FL as part of the Shark Bite Race Weekend.
We will follow the same format as last year with the top time in each category equaling 100%. You will receive a % score based on how your time compares to the top time in your category. Your top 4 race %'s out of the 6 total 1-man races will determine the winner in the 1-man series. Your top 3 race %'s out of the 4 total doubles races will
determine the winner in doubles series.
