Hi Guys.

I've read Rob's review and would like to here other comments.

Has anyone else had issues with "The cm or two of water slopping about the cockpit." or have there been updates since then?

Thanks

Water in the bottom of the footwell is not an uncommon problem.
A number of boats suffer the same malady. Retrofitting a bullet
usually makes a huge difference and costs bugger all.

I Agree with Dicko, my Horizon used to clear at about 10kph.

I tested a set of Bullets made from a kiddies sweet container that was nicely shaped and it used to dry out around 7.5kph. I am sure properly made ones could be better.

I currently have the synergy and find there is also water in the well but due to my lack of ability I am yet to get speed up sufficiently on the flat to clear it. The Horizon is a fantastic boat, don't rush to change it!!!!!!

All things considered my Fenn XT double doesn't even drain at 13Kph

Hi Moll, I have a Synergy2 and have also plodded along this season not really getting in to it (as soon as I paddled hard stability was a issue) until I lengthened my foot rest (no idea what the propper terms is - sorry) and brought my knees right down almost on to the hump - suddenly my balance improved. It felt a bit strange in the begining as I like to have my knees higher but after 6km I got used to it and loved the paddle home. Hope that helps your ride :S

Thanks rookie, I have done the same. My issues are self inflicted. I am currently paddling 50-60km per week in an XT double so an oil tanker lacks stability after that.
I promise to do the Synergy Justice in the new year!! lol

G'day Moll,
I'm thinking of buying my wife an Horizon. How did you find the boat?
She has done no paddling, but seems to be able to stay upright in my Vault. Is the the Horizon much more stable than the synergy. She is keen to enter a couple of races and I don't want to scare her, but mostly I need her to stop messing around with my boat. It seems I can get a new one for $1000 cheaper than anything else.

Hi Dicko, sorry to butt in but my wife is FAR more comfortable in the Horizon than in my synergy. The horizon is shorter - easier to manage, seat area lower - MUCH easier to get back in to and lastly a LOT more stable. they make a really great entry level boat for that reason. P.S she also enjoys the XT if you can find one. hope that helps regards

Dicko the Horizon is fantastic, I put many a first timer in it with no problems whatsoever. I regret selling mine.

Hi

I have a Horizon and love it. Sadly now out of the water as to cold in Cornwall. Will now have to wait till next year to get back on it.

Bought the Horizon. Really like it. The pedal setup is impessive.
Even more important Mrsdicko likes it. It feels and looks like a real ski not a beginners ski and the price was cheaper than a secondhand ski. Very stable.

Hi Dicko.

Would you mind saying where you bought it, no issue if you don't?

Oceanpaddler are selling them cheap.Iin my opinion they are good value. I think they are not selling as well as the more popular brands so they are selling them cheap. Well made, easy to remount. Probably a bit heavy, but most beginners skis are. MrsDicko had no trouble paddling it across the chop the other day. $1800 is pretty good for a new ski with warranty.
