Hi. I paddle a WSBS Maurauder. I do not do any big-water/ocean paddling so I'm not familiar with ski's that much. (Live in Montana) Mostly flat water. I recently lifted up a Huki S1a and was astounded at how light it was. I thought I needed to buy it on the spot. A friend suggested not to. He said that model was built for smaller paddlers (which I am, 150lbs) in rough conditions. He said the lighter weight will not make it a faster boat. I'm assuming its shorter length (approx.18ft 6in.) makes it slower also. Again I mostly paddle flatwater rivers and lakes. Any opinions/comments from surfski pros would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks !
Bob
