Currently paddling a Mako 6 but it is killing my ass...when I rotate, my glute gets caught between the seat and my "sit" bones (ischial tuberosity, if you don't want to google). I haven't had this problem before, am I just paddling badly?
What do you do to reduce the discomfort?
Thanks
It will probably just be your shape. I can't paddle epics without pain, hence why I love the fenn set-up, and for some it will be the opposite. You can make a small pad out of foam. I cut up and old kick board and rasped it into my own personal shape. Then get some 3 mm foam mat and glue it on top before taping it into your ski. What really important is you use foam with a shiny side so you can still twist your bum around.
I have tried some of the commercially made ones and all they do is grip your bum to the boat and stop you rotating.
