Total newbie - V8?

Hey guys,

Completely new here.

I'm keen to get into surf ski paddling, and have some limiited kayaking experience.

After looking around, Epic's new V8 ski seems like a good entry level option. Would you guys recommend it for a first-timer?

I'm not worried about buying new as I imagine it will hold it's value quite well over the year or so before I upgrade (hopefully!).

It seems like a more sensible choice over a V10S, which would be a pretty steep learning curve I think.

I live about two minutes walk from a sheltered bay with a large area of calm shallow water, so should be the perfect starting point.

Any other tips or advice?

Welcome and good luck with your future surf ski. If you haven't already, look back a couple weeks under the General Category and you'll see a very similar discussion comparing the V8 with other beginner type skis. The original poster bought the V8 and seems happy with it.
