V7 gen 2 versus gen 1?

I hopefully will have enough savings in the spring to get my first surf ski. I had test paddled both the V7 and V7 last fall and loved both, the V7 likely will work better with where I will paddle and money wise.

When I came to get current pricing I came across two prices one for the gen 1 boat and one for the newer gen 2. The only thing I can find online is the boats is slightly heavier. Does anyone know what the changes were?

All imho, not sure though:

gen 1.1: no foam bulkheads;
gen 1.2: two foam bulkheads (see those greay foamy parts in hatch) = added weight;

gen 2.1: as 1.2 and the former orange in-mould decal at the nose replaced by epic logo;
additionall cover offered for soft hatch as retrofit
gen 2.2: dep. on dealer (?) > delivered with additional cover + screw attachments

In Europe, there are currently 2016s V7 (2.2 ?) and V5 selling at 995 Euros at some dealers (dropped from above 1300 Euros), wonder if there are such bargains now in the US, too?

I'd insist on the bulkheads (safety) and dep. on where you paddle also use the additional cover (not needed fot the flats, imo)
