Apologies for the overt commercial post, but here's a new product we've developed in Australia to enhance the sort of instant feedback that can stop you from becoming tense in more challenging water. No distributors outside Australia yet but please sing out if you're interested, a percentage of the profits go to a great cause

Love the idea! Obviously the picture in the mirror is put on there and not an actual image on the mirror. Just wondering what is captured in the mirror I.e. face, body, paddle, surrounding water? The face appears to be then main objective for your feedback but can also see technique etc. benefits so wondering if the actual mirror is a convex shape to capture the wider view?

Thanks for the feedback.

The design brief was to focus on the face & shoulders, so you can see when you're getting tense. Ideally, you want to paddle along with a big smile, guaranteed to keep you relaxed.

We tried a wider curve but in testing we found that you got too distracted by others around you, as long as you were in front of them, of course.

We had no idea there were so many ski paddlers out there interested in constantly watching themselves paddle, so far a very successful product!

Yeah I thought so. I know there is a very big gap often between what we think we look like paddling and how we actually paddle. I know I've looked back on both footage and gopro mounted cameras and noticed some obvious technique errors that I hadnt realised I was guilty of and can see mirrors may be able to assist.

No worries Ric, off for an orange mocha frappuccino before the red carpet moment.
