Hi Outriggerbev,
I was also searching for a GPS watch when I saw your thread this morning...downloaded the free version, went for a quick bike ride (soar shoulder - no paddling for a few days - cortisone injection on Friday) - endomondo works great! Thanks!

I got a heart rate monitor for 30 bucks on ebay-it all works a treat and i really like the audio coach -she says the stats you want each klm ( or whenever you want them)which is great when its a nice day (everyday) on the water and i tend to zone out after 4 mins this function keeps me focussed.

I used to use the endomondo app on my phone for running but then switched to Garmin. The endomondo was quite different to the Garmin for distance logged.
maybe worth doing a comparison in the ski to see how they compare?
i'm guessing it is to do with frequency of data points logged...
