Who won the race in Spain a few weeks ago? The top stories on this site are about Mauritius (well before Spain race) and upcoming live feeds from World Championships in Spain. I was just expecting at least one big story on it here. Anybody know what occurred? Thanks

Yes, many of us watched it live on YouTube after the big push we did getting enough subscribers to do so. Seems like ages ago now, check out the following.

In a nutshell, the race was held in calm, flat conditions....

Sean Rice and Hank McGregor diced for the hotspot - the first turning buoy just offshore; Rice kept his nose just in front.

McGregor then chose a line offshore while Rice, Sam Norton (Aus), Tim Jacobs (Aus) went inshore... Rice lead most of the way with Norton making a brief foray into the lead before bonking.

Rice won by a minute or so, with TJ coming second. Cory Hill, who'd overtaken Sam Norton, came third.

In the women's race, Michelle Burn (SA) lead almost all the way with Nikki Mocke (SA) and Teneale Hatton (NZ) in close attendance. Michele Eray, starting some way down in the rankings (and the beach) had to claw her way back into contention.

There was drama at the finish when Burn missed the final turn buoy. She had to go back out to the buoy, only to see Michele Eray turn just ahead of her. The two women had a sprint to the finish, which Eray won. Nikki Mocke came third.
