Boat porn - Beautiful cedar strip surfski

I ran across this beauty of a boat for sale in Michigan, USA. 
What a beautiful boat!  I'm thoroughly impressed with the full cedar seat area. Look how many cuts were made to form that. Overall impressive workmanship. Looks like it has some healthy rocker and would be good in the bumps. I like the bucket handles and storage hatch. nice features all around.

The seller says "This is a 16' X 21" 29 pound intermediate surfski. It is a Bjorn Thomasson Designed "Spray" built by a master builder in 2019. Has both under stern and over stern rudders"

You dont see one of these every day and thought I would share during these boring times. 

I saw that when it first posted for around $4400.  Strip kayaks are super pretty and really relaxing to build.  I started one a few years ago before I starting paddling skis.  Got the hull done but never the deck (life got in the way), but that time it was good therapy for sure.

The problem is, for the price tag, you can have a new 26lb ski.  It's hard to recoup the hand crafting time.  With that said, the next owner will own a head turner that's for sure.

Beautiful! Wish I had the skill or patience to build something like that.
