Carbon V10 or Carbon Fenn Elite...?

I'm looking at both options...

For those who have owned either or both:

1) how do you find the construction as far as the ski handling normal use?
Are they very sensitive to bumps etc?

2) handling and comfort of the ski itself? (Subjective I know...)
ie. flat water vs downwind handling & comparative speed between the Epic & Fenn?

3) any additional impressions?

Thanks!

I have owned a Fenn Mako 6, an Elite and now an Elite SL, all in carbon. In my view the Elite is the pick of the above 3 skis, it steers the best and has the best speed/stability ratio. I fit into it very comfortably and it is a nice snug fit (I'm 89kg and 1.85m) Downwind performance is great and it tracks nicely on the runs.

Carbon Fenns are solid skis and can take heavy surf conditions without problems, but like all carbon skis you have to watch out for impact damage on sharp objects. My Elite is still going strong after 4 years of offshore racing in surf conditions, and I didn't give it any special care or treatment.

Can't comment on the carbon V10, sorry!

Thanks Nige!
Do you find that the carbon elite is slightly more "lively" or tippy than the heavier vacuum glass version...?

Yes, the lighter weight of the carbon ski does make it a bit more lively and tippy than the heavier glass ski. On the plus side, its also more responsive, especially on the runs.
