anyone use a wrist secured paddle leash ?

I stumbled on a wrist secured paddle leash on a website recently. I have only seen the longer style that connect to the boat - I sometimes use one on my sea kayak.

These look interesting and would most likely not get tangled with a leg leash. Very simple DIY also. Anyone have any experience using them ?
