Adjustable paddle repairs

I noticed today that my adjustable paddle is starting to come loose where internal section is attached to the shaft. Could anyone suggest a good adhesive to use when re-fitting it?

Some are hot glued in and others epoxied. What works really well is the adhesive that they use to put windscreens in. Go to your local auto glass replacement center and ask them to dab some on the inner shaft (that you have removed and cleaned) then re insert - make sure that it is correctly lined up - mark this point before you remove! This glue is great as it sticks like the proverbial and retains some flex.
