PFD Question was created by cody91
I'm currently trying to decide on a new racing/training PFD. I like the Mocke PFD but it doesn't seem to be available in the States.

I was wondering if anyone has tried the Gill Skiff Racer PFD for surfski paddling?

See my review of pfds. One of my favorites is the Gill Pull Racer. The big zipper pocket is great. It is a little hot in the summer when racing so I switch to the Kokatat Orbit which alot of guys where here in the Northeast.

The Mocke PFD has a mesh outer cover and water isn't trapped in it. I would wonder about something with a fabric cover.

I am using this PFD :

Not USCG approved but meets minimal ISO standards.

I like the fact that it has a rear pouch for a hydration bladder.

Just a thought.

cody91 , the new mock flotation aid will be available in the states , hopefully late january , email DeAnne at Oceanpaddlesports and get on her list if you want one. They are awesome vests , comfy and non-restrictive and COOL ! remember, though they are IMHO totally adequate floatation aids , they are not USCG approved type III pfd. The new model looks even better than the first generation version I have.
