Hello everyone,

I recently got a Fenn elit...
But I struggle to find the right seat position, I changed 20 times my footplate distance but I need the view of an experienced paddler !

The bottom of my back should be stuck to the boat ? Should I be a little be blocked in the seat that I can push hard on the footplate ?

(I'm a novice paddler , just started 6 months ago)

Thank for your help

James

Hi ,
As a rough outline you need to be able to twist with leg drive. You will need to have your foot plate close enough so that very little (if any) of the backs of your legs touch the hump in the centre of the cockpit.

The more bent (to a point) your legs are the easier you will be able to tilt your pelvis forward and create better power. A lot will depend on how tall you are.

Shorter people can find it more difficult to get comfy in relation to the size of the hump.

Yes you will be back against the seat but it is not a seat to lean back in, it just keeps your butt in the right place.

You will have to experiment a bit.

I hope that helps.
