Beginner-v10s in 2-3 ft waves ok, v8 ok in 4ish. Would really like to do is go for 1-2 wks on vacation somewhere to train under organized supervision/rentals available. Don't know much about Tarifa or other sites and where instruction and rentals are dialed in.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Dale is a great coach.
Maui is exceptional for ski.  Never been to Costa Rica.  Sounds really nice though.

Had 5 days in Tarifa June 2018 and absolutely loved it. Some paddlers may feel they are above an Epic V8 but it doesn't detract from the fun and I think enhances the opportunity to learn how to downwind paddle. Conditions were fantastic for us and seem to be pretty reliable for most of the year. Very scenic. Well organised but best of all is the tuition from Boyan. You can discover that downwind doesn't have to be a massive exertion but is all timing and good line / wave choices. More speed for less effort! Highly recommend

TC Surfski in Michigan is doing a 3 day clinic with Oscar C in June. The registration is open (and I am going). Not 2 weeks, but you will get training. They also do private lessons if you want to extend it,
