I have always wondered how the teams transport their Surf-skis to different parts of the world?

It's a real problem both for race organisers and elite athletes.

The big manufacturers will often time delivery of containers to coincide with a big international race so as to get new boats on hand for their sponsored paddlers. The boats are often sold on as "hardly used" afterwards.

Sometimes the races will store boats on hand (eg Fenn have a container load of boats in Mauritius that are only used for the race each year. Paddlers rent the boats and sometimes have to be content with an older model.)

The biggest challenge is when the race is in an out-of-the-way location with no big market for the used boats. Tahiti is an example.

Sometimes manufacturers will ship a long crate with two or four boats - but that gets really expensive.
