Ski Insurance

Looking at updating my home and contents insurance and trolling through the PDS finding it hardto make sense of the 84 pages.
What type of insurance do you have for your ski (& paddle)?

Also looking for infomation on bikes, not expensive ones but sporting equipment can be included and excluded under some general contents policies.

NRMA offers approx. $10K coverage for any sporting equipment in/on your car for about $130 per year.

Forget reading the PDS, have a chat with them directly.

If you want personal injury cover, then look into Paddle NSW insurance.

I'm still debating my options & haven't chosen anything yet

I have insured some of my skis (mainly the expensive carbon ones) over the years.

In my small print though, it states that if the ski is used "for the purpose for which it is designed", it is excluded.

In other words, it's insured against theft and any accident that occurs while I'm not paddling....

So don't think that you'll necessarily be covered when you break your ski in the surf.

I have my hawx insured via the paddle nsw deal. It's covered on & off the water, & in transit etc. A couple of hundred $ is cheaper than $5,500. Also has $10 mil public liability.
