Mounting a Garmin Edge 530 or Wahoo Elemnt to Foot Strap

I installed a garmin edge by breaking out the old needle and thread and sewed the little tabs on the standard mount to the foot strap fabric.  Has been going strong for 4 years with no trouble.  Not sure if the wahoo elemnt would be the same.
